OUR FAMILY / OUR MEMORY

A life that will always be part of ours.

Born and raised in Plainview, Louisiana, Matt was lovingly known as “Bubba” by his family. The youngest of five children and the only son, he shared a special bond with his four older sisters.

Matt was Jade’s younger brother and Paul’s brother-in-law. He enjoyed working alongside Paul at ABIS Arms, and his kindness, personality, and memories will remain part of our family and this business.

THE LIFE HE LIVED

So much to remember.

Matt attended Plainview High School and enjoyed sports, especially baseball, where he played pitcher and second baseman, and basketball. The friendships and memories from those years were important to him.

From childhood, he loved fishing, hunting, and crabbing. As he grew, he discovered a passion for technology and creativity, including building computers, designing and playing video games, and writing books. He had recently begun working as a laborer at NCMC and also enjoyed time working at ABIS Arms.

Matt will be remembered for his creativity, kind heart, and beautiful smile. His family has shared that his final day was filled with fun and love, and that he was surrounded and held by those closest to him as he passed.

CHERISHED BY FAMILY

Surrounded by love.

Matt is lovingly remembered by his parents, David and Jennifer Ray; his sisters, Jade Menard (Paul), Linsey Ray, Erin Martin (Drake), and Madison Ray; his maternal grandparents, Francis and Sandra Mire; his nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, extended family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert C. and JoNell Ray.

FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS

Although his time with us was far too short, the love Matt shared and the memories he helped create will remain with us always.
